Post Forum Rules

These are the MAIN FORUM RULES, they apply to all the forums of the board and the threads contained within.
Quote:
1. Don't flame or spam this forum, its users, or any services relating to it.
Trolling or inciting hatred in other users on the forums is also completely unacceptable as well.

Constructive criticism is always welcome in Complaints and Suggestions.

2. Don't advertise any competitors or other commercial websites / services here. (Admins and moderators reserve the right to remove any form of adverts, as seen fit)

3. Don't complain about Game Server bans here, READ THE FAQs and stickies in all the forums to ensure that any complaint is made in the correct forum.

4. Don't link to any multiplayer online cheats or cheatsites.

5. Don't post about cheats expecting a ban from UK2 on this forum - Report the person live on IRC to an admin or Use the system in place on steambans to report cheats.

6. No bumping up old threads without any reason. Leave the dead buried.

7. Don't complain about a thread that was locked and / or deleted in a new thread. - Check your post was not moved to another category, which is likely if you posted in the wrong area or failed to follow any of the procedures above.

8. Don't re-post ANY removed threads!

9. Do NOT Post links to Recruitment threads for hit based websites ( Pornstars, gangsters, armys - that type of thing) Also do not post poor threads about your best score / best kills / best names / best anything.

10. Do NOT post any part of a private message or conversation.

11. Be forgiving of mistakes or lack of Internet knowledge. Many people are new to the Internet so they may ask questions that seem obvious or stupid. Think twice before reacting, it is better to politely educate people rather than insult them.

12. One of the most important tips is: Do not over react, particularly as many comments are made in jest. If you have a grievance with anyone, deal with it in private.

13. Do not post any message that is obscene, vulgar, sexually orientated, homophobic, hateful, racist, threatening or that may violate any laws.

14. Do not post or request links for warez, crackz, pornography, infected files (for example a trojan or virus), hacking web sites or to content that is in breach of copyright, including but not limited to music or movie files.

15. If you have to have a signature, make it informative, neutral in color and small. A large signature image will be a considerable hinderance to low bandwidth users and more importantly no-one wants to scroll down half a page for each comment in a conversation. In addition, offensive* avatars/signatures will be requested for removal/modification as moderators see fit. No animated images.

* offensive includes nudity or bad language, keep it clean please.

16. Do not post "FAO" (for the attention of) posts, instead use the PM (private message) facility on the board.

17. Any grievances or complaints regarding the forum and its moderation are to be conducted in a mature, sensible manner, if you are unable to conduct yourself in that manner, because you are angry at the time of posting, Stop, calm down and think rationally before posting anything.

18. There is no support at all given to users of any UK2 product through this board, this facility was withdrawn from the boards some time ago. Buying a UK2 product does not grant any rights or special treatment, where the game servers are concerned. Playing on the servers is a privilege not a right and all users must adhere to the player rules on the cyborg2.com website.

19. Moderators/Super Moderators and Administrators of the board are NOT UK2 employees, they are representatives of the UK2 Counter-Strike Community, their views are not that of UK2 Limited and are to be taken entirely as their own, unless a clear indication of otherwise is given.

20. Spamming of the forums is generally frowned upon, administrators and super moderators will remove users posts and counts, should they be deemed to be too spam like.

21. Clan Forums - These are to be dealt with entirely by the host clan, any problems with the posts on that forum are to be directed to the Forum Moderator initially, failing that the problem may be referred to a Super Moderator / Administrator of the board.

22. You may have one user account and one account only. There are tools available to change almost any aspect of your account, you should use these instead of creating a new one. If you are found to have created a new account even if your first was not banned, you risk having both of your accounts banned or removed.

The Forum Management Hierarchy is viewable by clicking here.
Breaches of any Guidelines
If any posts break these rules they will be closed / deleted / removed from the boards.

Repeat offenders will have their accounts suspended.

Super Moderators and Administrators reserve the right to edit/delete or move ANY posts and suspend or ban any accounts with or without an explanation.

Any user signing up in another account after being banned without permission, will also face that account being banned as well, if they are already banned or suspended.

Signatures

Images in Signatures.

The rules for this are hereby adjusted to be a bit more straightforward.

6 Images Maximum per signature (If it is using USERBARS type images only - www.userbars.com otherwise its a single image only allowed)

Anything deemed too large will be removed or modified at an administrators discretion, don't query why it was removed, just take note of any specific details left in your signature.

Please keep any non-userbars images thin, no more than 110 pixels deep.

Do not have a signature that is overly large with lots of spacing and lines of text in addition to a picture, it is most annoying having to read a page which over half is taken up by signatures - i.e. two or three lines of text at most and a picture is fine (try making the text size smaller using the bbcode size tags if necessary).

As regards the forum and their moderation, as you can see Here the heirarchy of the Forums and their management, where this exists you should approach a moderator or Super Moderator with any appropriate problems regarding the forums and your dealing within them, before you approach an Administrator / Head Admin.

If you feel that your response off the Moderator/ Super Moderator is not what you were hoping for then report the post with a link to the thread to counter-strike@uk2.net so that we may have a look at it.

Attached images/Linked Images

From now on if you're going to post images in the forums please resize them to 800 x 600 maximum, which is a reasonable size *OR* hyperlink to them if you feel making them that size loses some of the image.

If people continue to post huge images in their posts then we will remove the ability to post images in threads, or move people into a specific group on the forums where they are unable to post any images onto threads.
