F.E.A.R servers

On the players online page the "connect to this server" button is still set up as a source server, could ya change this over please?!? Thanks - Snakeh

Hmm, well as far as I can tell there isn't an option to run fear from a web 'protocol' like steam has (steam://).

Now it wouldn't be too hard for people to make one mind.. But I bet no-one has

isn't gamespy web based these days? Perhaps rip that apart, although it probably has an embedded object that handles the launching...

... had a problem with launching fear... but I didn't install gamespy because I don't like it.... (ASE ftw).... is this my problem?

gamespy is feckin dreadful. I paid for it and it promptly deleted my BF2 account never to return. Emailing their support desk is completely futile and i'll not use theri product or services and if a game requires it to be installed to work i'll not play it.

Oh I used gamespy to tell me the syntax to get dear to go to a server. +join server:port if anyone wanted to know

But of course to make it work from a weblink you need to make a bat file to cd to the game folder and run the game (might be a better way than this) with the +join %1 and then add the details in the registry to point to that bat file when fear://blah is entered...

A bit too involved for the average PC user. Even if the bat file/registry import are provided, they would still need adjusting for the installed location.
