Anyone use BEThere ISP?

Just a quick F.Y.I. for existing customers:

I was browsing this morning in my insomniac state and found this

If you sign up to a new 12 month contract you get two months free. Check out the offers section on the BE website*.

(*Yes its one serious fuggly web design!)

They've been ripped a new hole by BE customers for that web design. I've seen geocity sites that were better!

My connection is the same at times. I connect at any speed from 8-19meg. It used to be very reliable - well at first every time I answered the phone my net connection would disconnect. But once that was sorted it was stable with maybe one or two disconnections a week.

Recently though I get disconnected quite a bit and for a while (a couple of months ago) I was getting disconnected about 20 times a day. Still it's the second best connection overall that I've ever had. Bulldog was the best connection I ever had. That was rock solid. Shame Bulldogs new owners Pipex wrecked everything by selling the company to Talk Talk (or Tiscali - I can't remember which but they're both garbage).

The worst had to be Plusnet. These wankers added a traffic management and went from unlimited to a cap. The cap was a generous 100Gb - but they applied it retroactively for the previous three months. So if you downloaded too much when it was unlimited you now had your connection limited to dialup speeds from 6pm to 11pm.

I was limited and remember having an interesting conversation with 'tech support' (I use that term lightly, "Flow-chat monkey" might be a more apt description).

In this conversation the condescending a-hole used the speed limit as an example saying that if you were driving on a motorway breaking the speed limit you'd be caught and punished. I pointed out that if I was driving fast when there was no speed limit, I could not then be charged for that when the law changed, as at the time I had broken no law. Unsurprisingly the clueless idiot had no answer.

dare I say it, for 2 years I haven´t had a single disconnect or outage - not that I play anything at the moment, but that´s not the point ^^. The ISPs over there are a law unto themselves. Customer service - a thing of the past.
